چکیده

In recent years Optical soliton technologies have attracted much interest in the academic and industrial worlds. Today the potential of soliton engineering is recognised world-wide with reasearch groups actively working on this topic in every part of the globe. In this report, we present a brief overview of the fundamental concepts of temporal solitons and its potential applications in the eld of ber optic communications. We also present an overview of the research carried out in the last 25 years and the current challenges in the eld.
